The project, an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's 2010 bestseller, is due to begin production later this month and it is said that the film's producers are hoping to convince Reznor to take on a small acting role in the film.
According to EW, a spokesperson for 20th Century Fox confirmed that Reznor is in advanced talks for the part of Jack Barts, a vampire who kills Lincoln's mother and sets him on the road to becoming a vampire slayer.
Reznor won an Academy Award last week for the soundtrack to David Fincher's The Social Network.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is currently scheduled for release on June 22, 2012.
