The former James Bond has been cast in All You Need is Love, Bier's first project since last year's In A Better World, which won the Oscar for 'Best Foreign Language Film' at last weekend's ceremony.
"[It's a] delightful love story," Brosnan said of the film, according to 24 Frames. "It's a comedy, a love story which has punch and deals with loss and a great love."
The filmmaker herself described the film as a "tender story", and said that it deals with much lighter subject material than her previous offerings, such as the 2004 war drama Brothers.
All You Need Is Love is due to begin filming this spring.
