Gary Oldman has been hired for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, weeks after filming began.

The actor will return to his role as Sirius Black, the wizard's godfather, following fears he had been dropped.

Oldman reportedly gave producers a "now or never" ultimatum, prompting them to agree a contract.

The star's manager Douglas Urbanski commented: “He’s very happy to be back.”
