HBO Films announced on Wednesday that the actress is the first to sign for the upcoming project, based on the Mark Halperin and John Heilemann-penned volume, which will also deal with several other key political figures.
The movie will reportedly centre on Republican presidential candidate John McCain's battle for the White House and his subsequent loss to Barack Obama.
The film will be directed by Jay Roach and written by Recount's Danny Strong.
