MGM's 'Robocop' remake finds writer

The studio has enlisted Josh Zetumer to write the script for the new version of Paul Verhoeven's 1987 science fiction movie.
Zetumer's hiring follows the appointment of Brazilian director Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) on the franchise. Up-and-coming screenwriter Zetumer has penned unproduced scripts for the Dune remake and the fourth Bourne instalment.
Darren Aronofsky was previously attached to the Robocop remake, but dropped out as the studio fell into Chapter 11 bankruptcy. New owners Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum have reportedly targeted Robocop as the first franchise to revive under the new regime.
