According to Indiewire, the Warrior's Way villain will play an unknown role in the thriller, opposite both Cage and the previously-announced Malin Akerman.
Medallion was scripted by David Guggenheim, and sees Cage working alongside director Simon West for the first time since the 1997 action film Con Air.
The film follows a bank robber given only a few hours to find his daughter, who has been kidnapped and is trapped in the boot of a taxi cab in New York City.
Production on Medallion is due to start soon in New Orleans.
