Hardwicke: 'Hood ending is big secret'

Hardwicke, who rose to popularity after directing the first Twilight film, said that she was the one who suggested that the film's companion novel not reveal who the werewolf actually is.
"We couldn't give the whole ending away, we had to end it right before you find out," Hardwicke explained to Coming Soon. "But then you can go online after the movie comes out and read the final chapter."
The director also claimed that most of the film's production crew didn't even know the identity of the film's villain, as she made sure that it was kept secret from everyone except those who needed to know.
"A lot of people who worked on the movie didn't know the ending," Hardwicke added, revealing that many cast members only had half of the script. "There's nobody in that last scene except for, like, three people."
Red Riding Hood was released in US cinemas this weekend, and opens in the UK on April 15.
