The actor, known for playing J. Jonah Jameson in the superhero series, told Coming Soon that director Jason Reitman had asked him especially to do the voiceover for the romance, titled Young Adult.
He said: "Not unlike True Grit with the Coen Brothers, you will not see me in Young Adult, but you will hear me.
"They asked me to do the voiceover when they were in post-production, and then Jason asked me to do the voiceover in Young Adult, because at this point, I'm his good luck charm. I've been in every feature he's directed."
The film will see Charlize Theron playing a fiction writer who is frustrated to discover that her ex-boyfriend has married on her return to her hometown.
