The Captain America: The First Avenger actress will appear alongside Charlotte Rampling in the London-set film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rampling will play the film's title character, while Atwell will play her daughter Emmy.
I, Anna, which follows a woman's life "being turned upside down", will mark the feature directorial debut of writer-director Barnaby Southcombe.
Atwell and Rampling previously starred in the 2008 drama The Duchess.
