Dennis Quaid for 'Playing the Field'

Dennis Quaid has boarded the cast of forthcoming baseball comedy Playing the Field.

The Legion actor joins Uma Thurman, Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel and Noah Lomax in the project, reports Blackfilm.

The movie centres on a pro sports player (Butler) who tries to redeem himself for a failed past by coaching his son's soccer team. However, the man is sidetracked by his players' attractive mothers.

Quaid has signed to play a coach for an opposing team. Thurman will play a parent of one of the young soccer players, and Biel will portray Butler's former wife.

Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness) is directing Playing the Field based on a script by Robbie Fox.

Production is scheduled to begin later this month in Shreveport, Louisiana.
