Ian McShane cast in 'Jack The Giant Killer'

The former Deadwood and Lovejoy star will play King Brahmwell in New Line's retelling of the Jack and the Beanstalk story.
The blockbuster centres on a farmboy (Nicholas Hoult) who leads a quest to rescue a princess (Eleanor Tomlinson) after she's taken to a kingdom ruled by giants.
Stanley Tucci has the role of the villain who wants to overthrow the king, while Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy and John Kassir are also among the cast.
Jack The Giant Killer is being targeted for release in 2012.
McShane can next be seen playing Blackbeard in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, opening in cinemas this May.
