Earlier this month, it was claimed that the movie, which also stars Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray, would not be given a theatrical run.
However, Entertainment Weekly reports that a representative from the production has said that the thriller will be shown on limited release in New York City and Los Angeles from May 6, before heading to DVD from May 31.
The film tells the story of an angel-winged circus attraction (Fox), a washed-up jazz musician (Rourke) and their attempts to escape their lives. Its poster depicts the three headline stars and a feather, accompanied with the tagline, "Love is stronger than death".
Passion Play was poorly received on its premiere at Toronto Film Festival last year.
