According to Deadline, the young Irish actress is said to be 'in discussions" for a leading role in The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, which is due to begin production later this year.
If cast, Ronan will join Armie Hammer, best known for playing the Winklevoss twins in last year's The Social Network, as well as the previously-announced Julie Roberts as the Evil Queen.
Ronan rose to fame following her Academy Award-nominated performance in Atonement in 2007, and more recently received critical acclaim for her starring role in Peter Jackson's adaptation of Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones.
Earlier today, it was reported that Viggo Mortensen had dropped out of negotiations to play the male lead in Rupert Sanders's rival film Snow White And The Huntsman.
The Brothers Grimm: Snow White is scheduled for release on June 29, 2012.
Previous: 'The Smurfs' release date moved to July
