Bryan Cranston to play 'Total Recall' villain

Bryan Cranston is to take on the role of the villain in the planned remake of Total Recall.

The actor has been cast as Vilos Cohaagen in the film, which will star Colin Farrell as the lead.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cranston's character will be the leader of a place called Euroamerica, for whom Farrell's Douglas Quaid may be a spy.

Eva Green and Kate Bosworth are in the running to play the roles of Melinda and Lori respectively.

Breaking Bad star Cranston has a number of forthcoming film projects, including Larry Crowne and John Carter of Mars.
