Superman Returns will be shown in 3-D action in Imax theatres when it comes out this summer.
The Hollywood movie is expected to be a blockbuster, but in a time of dwindling movie-goers, filmmakers have decided to give the public one more incentive to see it. Superman Returns will be the first live-action Hollywood feature to be given the Imax treatment, with 20 minutes of the film to be shown in 3-D.
"The test scenes that have been converted into Imax 3-D look, sound and feel absolutely amazing," Superman Returns director Bryan Singer said in a statement.
"The magic of Imax 3-D will envelop audiences in the story, enabling them to feel the emotion, drama and suspense in a completely new and unique way."
