Nicolas Cage and 50 Cent have agreed to star in The Dance, a film telling the story of prison boxing coach Billy "The Kid" Roth.
Variety reports that the feature will be based on a documentary directed by John Darling Haynes in 2003, on which Cage acted as an executive producer. Written by Neil Tolkin (The Emperor's Club), the project will focus on the prizefighter who spent more than four decades as a volunteer coach in Lousiana state prisons.
Cage will take the role of Roth, whilst 50 Cent will play an inmate in whom Roth sees potential, apart from the fact that he is serving a life sentence.
