Talking to MTV News, the Camelot star revealed that his role as Gellert Grindewald in the final two instalments of the Potter franchise has been a memorable experience, particularly because of the importance of the films in popular culture.
"I was only on set for a very short period of time, and I only play a very small role in the film," he explained.
"I suppose, you know, just for me personally, being able to be involved in something that is taking place in England for 10 years and something that has given people jobs and a great boost to the British film industry, that was a real honour."
It was recently confirmed that Deathly Hallows: Part Two will be the shortest film in the series and will also be released in 3D.
The film will be released worldwide on July 15.
