Chris Hemsworth: 'Natalie Portman kiss crazy'

Speaking to GQ Australia, the 27-year-old Melbourne native asserted that he still cannot believe that his Thor co-star agreed to portray his romantic interest.
"[It was] ridiculous," Hemsworth joked. "Going from kissing Natalie Portman to working with Anthony Hopkins - the whole experience was like, 'What the f**k am I doing here?' But in a good way. It literally seemed like last week I was still working on [Australian soap opera] Home and Away."
The star portrayed Kim Hyde on the Australian drama for three years, before leaving to focus on his film career in 2007.
Hemsworth went on to suggest that working on a potential blockbuster such as Thor was not all too dissimilar to appearing in an independent film.
He explained: "You have the massive world that was created by Marvel, and then you have these very intimate actors around you. There was as much character work on this as there would be on a little independent film.
"So, [I felt] very fortunate in that sense, and I had never had anyone push me in so many different directions or places that [director Kenneth Branagh] did with my character... It was a constant evolution, which is a freer way to work. We weren't on this tightrope of, 'Oh f**k, don't do that, only do this'."
"And Anthony Hopkins is just incredible to be around - he lifts everybody's game," Hemsworth added. "You soak up everything he is doing and learn from that."
The star recently revealed that he contemplated giving up acting before securing the role of Marvel superhero Thor.
Thor is due to be released in UK cinemas on April 27, and in the US on May 6.
