Emma Roberts 'did Skype audition for Scream 4'

Emma Roberts has revealed that she landed her role in the upcoming movie Scream 4 with a Skype audition.

Roberts, the niece of actress Julia Roberts, spoke to WENN about her audition for the highly-anticipated sequel, stating that director Wes Craven watched her via web cam.

"I get to his house and they told me it [the audition] would be on Skype [an internet video calling programme], which was so strange because [Craven's] assistant was there, his casting director was there and he's there on a laptop," said Roberts.

Roberts went on to reveal that she was given platform boots to wear throughout the production in order to make her appear taller.

"I'm really small compared to everyone else in the movie because I'm short, so I was literally running around in seven inch boots the whole movie, so I could be up to the right height to everyone else," Roberts confessed.

The Aquamarine star has previously stated that she feels honoured by her role in Scream 4 and relishes the chance to work with veteran filmmakers.

Meanwhile, Craven has said that he may return to direct future instalments in the Scream franchise should the fourth movie prove to be successful.

Scream 4 is expected to open in theatres in the US and the UK on April 15.
