Robert Pattinson 'cried for elephant co-star'

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he cried after concluding filming scenes with his elephant co-star in his latest film.

The actor, who stars opposite Reese Witherspoon in Water For Elephants, told Seventeen Latino magazine that he often feels closer to creatures than humans.

"I cried the last day that Tai was on the set of Water For Elephants, and during the film March of the Penguins," he explained.

"I think I have more affinity with animals than with people. For many reasons, I prefer working with animals and children than with actors. Often when you're working with actors, it becomes something almost competitive."

Pattinson previously explained that his bond with Tai started after they were first introduced on set.

"The first time I met Tai, I just got in her mouth. It just seemed like a good place to be!" the actor said.

Pattinson recently said that he is excited for the release of the film, adding that he has "a feeling it's going to be really good".

Water For Elephants is scheduled for release in the US and UK on April 22.
