Danny McBride: 'Conan inspired Your Highness'

McBride told DS that, although he believes many '80s fantasy films don't hold up well, he admired them for capturing his imagination as a child.
"I think that's what any good movie's supposed to do, transport you somewhere else, let you forget about what's going on in your life and take you somewhere fantastical," McBride said.
The Eastbound & Down star added that Your Highness is an "homage" to films of Conan's ilk.
"Everything from the approach to the visual effects, to having puppets in the movie, to having a stop-motion bird. We took all these elements of the genre that always stuck in our minds as kids and tried to just piece it together in something that was a nice nod to those films," he said.
