Lee visited the set to shoot a cameo for the upcoming superhero reboot, and afterwards took to Twitter to approve of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
He tweeted: "Rejoice, my brace Brigadiers, thy Generalissimo hath returned unscathed from his perilous duty on the set of the new Spider-Man reboot!
"The event was terrific! I met our new Peter Parker, Andrew Garfield. You'll be amazed how perfectly this talented guy fits the role! And when you see the lovely Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, you'll realise why Peter has such a king-size crush [on] her!"
Lee continued by revealing details about his cameo: "The talented Rhys Ifans is Spidey's deadly foe! I'll be acting with him and Andrew Garfield! I just hope I don't steal the scene too much."
Finally, the Spider-Man creator commended Webb, saying that Marvel was fortunate to have him helm the film. He added: "I can't rave enough about [him]. What a pleasure to work with!
"I'll prove how good Marc is - he handled my incredibly complex 30-second scene without any directing advice from me! He's a winner!"
It was recently revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man would finish shooting in New York, while producers are reportedly looking to cast a redhead. The movie has been given a July 2012 release date.
