Lindsay Lohan 'Superman' rumours persist

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly in the running for an supporting role in Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman reboot.

It was suggested in February that Lohan was in talks with Warner Bros about a potential role in the film, and it is now being said that the role in question is that of Clark Kent's high school crush Lana Lang.

According to Cosmic Book News, a source close to the film's production confirmed that Lohan is under consideration for the part of Lang, a popular girl in Kent's school who eventually discovers his secret identity.

There has been no official word from either Warner Bros or Lohan's agency regarding her potential involvement with the film.

Already confirmed as part of Snyder's cast are Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

Superman: Man of Steel is expected to hit cinemas in December 2012.
