Nick Cassavetes departs Gotti biopic

Nick Cassavetes will reportedly no longer direct the upcoming Gotti family biopic Gotti: Three Generations.

According to TMZ, executive producer Marc Fiore was forced to cut Cassavetes after it was revealed that the film's production schedule would coincide with another project to which he is tied.

A source told the website that Gotti execs have already begun searching for a new director.

John Travolta previously signed to star as John Gotti Sr. He has described the Gotti family history as "the most interesting untold story in the country".

Lindsay Lohan has also been linked to the film and is said to be wanted for the role of Victoria Gotti.
