Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale) will play the title role in the film about a Vassar College student who receives an unexpected visit from the most frightening kid from his old New York neighbourhood. Jason Ritter and Chris Marquette also star.
This will not be Durst's first time behind the camera - he has previously directed a number of his band's music videos.
