According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal have been tapped to join the Warner Bros adaptation.
The film is being produced by Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil, which optioned the property in 2006, at which point Jim Uhls (Fight Club) was reported to be working on the script.
Created by Arvid Nelson and Eric Johnson, Rex Mundi is set in an alternate 20th century Earth where the Catholic Church rules with an iron grip and magic is real. It centres around the quest for the Holy Grail. The series was first published by Image Comics from 2003-06 before moving to Dark Horse, where it concluded in 2009.
The movie is being produced by Nihil's Christi Dembrowski, Alan and Peter Riche and Dark Horse's Mike Richardson.
Klugman and Sternthal are also writing and directing the Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Irons-starring film The Words, which is due to begin shooting in the summer.
