Paula Malcomson boards 'Hunger Games'

Paula Malcomson has signed to star in the forthcoming movie adaptation of The Hunger Games.

The Caprica actress will play the mother of Katinss and Prim in the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jennifer Lawrence was previously cast in the lead role of Katniss, while Willow Shields will play her sister Prim in the movie, direct by Gary Ross.

Malcomson also joins Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Amandla Stenberg, Dayo Okeniyi, Leven Rambin and Jack Quaid in the forthcoming fantasy picture.

The Hunger Games is expected to arrive in cinemas on March 23, 2012.
