The actor played Winston Zeddemore in the first two movies in the series and rumours have continued to suggest that a third film will enter production next May.
Asked about the reports, Hudson told TMZ: "You know, I haven't seen anybody with any money, but I hear it's happening.
"I've been reading all the press stuff and the fans have been telling me that it's on, so we'll see."
He added: "I have no idea, and I'm not waiting for it, but I'd love to see it happen. I think it's great."
Hudson was recently added to the cast of the upcoming ten-part Torchwood series Miracle Day.
