Julia Roberts’ bath with Richard Gere in Pretty Woman has been voted the best hotel-based movie scene.
The romantic encounter between Gere’s businessman and Roberts’ warm-hearted prostitute topped the poll, fighting off competition from films ranging from Psycho to Ghostbusters.
Hotel company Travelodge compiled the list by quizzing more than 3,000 movie fans. Their spokesman Wayne Munnelly welcomed the result.
“There have been many great movie scenes in hotels throughout the years,” he commented. “Pretty Woman is a great choice. The whole film is set in a hotel and we would all love to indulge in the hotel highlife like Julia Roberts’ character does.”
Psycho’s grim shower murder scene managed second place, however, and The Shining’s murdered twins meeting came third.
