Vanessa Hudgens, Fraser team up on new film

Former Disney actress Vanessa Hudgens has reportedly entered into negotiations to star in a new indie film opposite Brendan Fraser.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hudgens has begun final talks to join the cast of Gimme Shelter, a drama which will be both written and directed by Amexica producer Ron Krauss.

If cast in the project, Hudgens will play a pregnant runaway teenager who escapes her abusive mother and tries to discover her real father.

Fraser has already been cast in the role of the girl's father, who also throws the girl out after she refuses to have her unborn child aborted.

Hudgens rose to fame in the High School Musical film series, but more recently starred in the fantasy epic Sucker Punch, as well as in Beastly, opposite Alex Pettyfer.

Gimme Shelter is expected to begin production at the end of May.
