The Hurt Locker star Anthony Mackie has reportedly been offered roles in both the zombie epic World War Z and the 1940s mob film Gangster Squad.
Variety claims that Mackie has been tapped for an unspecified part in Marc Forster's adaptation of the Max Brooks zombie novel, which will also star both Brad Pitt and Mireille Enos.
World War Z tells a retrospective story about a zombie invasion of Earth from a variety of different viewpoints.
The young actor has also been offered a part in Ruben Fleischer's upcoming LAPD drama Gangster Squad, and if he accepts will join a cast including the likes of Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin.
Mackie first gained recognition for his role as Sergeant JT Sanborn in the 2009 film The Hurt Locker, but is currently filming a part in Fox's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and will next be seen opposite Hugh Jackman in Real Steel.
Representatives for Mackie have yet to comment on reports of his involvement with either World War Z or Gangster Squad.
