Renee Zellweger has struck a deal to star in Paramount Pictures' horror thriller Case 39.
The storyline will follow a social worker (Zellweger) who rescues a 10-year-old girl from her abusive parents only to find that there is more to the situation that meets the eye, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ray Wright wrote the script.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in Vancouver on July 31st, though no director is attached as yet.
The actress recently dropped out of the studio's remake of The Eye, a horror project directed by The Ring's Hideo Nakata.
