Kirsten Dunst signs up to 'Bachelorette'

Kirsten Dunst has joined the cast of the wedding comedy Bachelorette.

The Spider-Man actress will be co-starring in the film with Lizzy Caplan, Casey Wilson and Adam Scott, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dunst and Caplan are to play a pair of bitchy friends invited to be bridesmaids at the wedding of a woman, played by Wilson, who was unknowingly nicknamed "Pigface" by the two.

Bachelorette marks the directorial debut of playwright Leslye Headland, who has adapted her own play for the film.

Caplan and Scott have acted together in the television comedy Party Down, while Headland wrote for the show Terriers.

Will Ferrell is producing the film along with the Gary Sanchez company.

Dunst has been linked to a number of projects including On the Road and a third Sofia Coppola project.

She will next be seen in controversial director Lars von Trier's sci-fi drama Melancholia.
