Renee Zellweger has signed up to star in a new horror film.

The actress will appear in Case 39 as a social worker who finds out a horrifying truth about the life of an abused ten-year-old she saves from her parents.

Zellweger, who is currently working on a film about author Beatrix Potter, pulled out of Hollywood horror remake The Eye earlier in the year.
