The 'E.T.' star admitted her ambitions after watching a stage adaptation of the popular 1964 musical film, which starred Julie Andrews, in Sydney, Australia.
"I can't deny that I used to grab an umbrella and think, 'I could take off with the right winds' as a kid," Perry told The Mirror.
She went on to suggest that her husband Russell Brand could take on the role made famous by Dick Van Dyke in the original movie.
"I think I could play her if they remade it," she said. "Russell could play Bert. He'd have less trouble with the accent than me."
Perry recently revealed the release date and artwork for her new single 'Last Friday Night (TGIF)'.
