Mel Gibson's 'The Beaver' UK poster unveiled

The UK poster for Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster's The Beaver has been released.

The movie, Gibson's first since controversy erupted over his leaked telephone conversations with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, will screen at the Cannes Film Festival later this month and is due for release in the UK on June 17.

The Beaver centres on a successful toy executive who falls into depression and voices his problems through a sock puppet. Director Foster co-stars with Jennifer Lawrence and Anton Yelchin.



Foster, who first first worked with Gibson on 1994's Maverick, has stood by the troubled actor, describing him as "a deep person".

"He has lived through a lot of struggle in his young life as well as now," she said, "He brings all of that depth of feeling to what he does on screen and I'm really grateful to what a deep person he is."
