Stanley Tucci has signed on to star in the dystopian drama The Hunger Games.

The Devil Wears Prada actor, who was first linked to the role earlier this month, will take on the role of Caesar Flickerman in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins's young adult trilogy.

Flickerman serves as the announcer of all tributes at the Hunger Games ceremony and is largely responsible for how players fare once in the arena.

Elizabeth Banks was recently announced for the role of Effie Trinket, while Paula Malcomson also signed on for the part of Katniss and Prim's mother.

Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson will play Gale Hawthorne and Peeta Melark respectively.

Jennifer Lawrence was previously cast in the lead role of Katniss Everdeen.
