The movie follows a group of friends holidaying in Chile who fail to notice that one of their party is losing her mind until disaster strikes, Variety reports.
It will mark Cera's return to film following the box office failure of the live-action Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Magic, Magic will also be the actor's first non-comedy independent film.
Sebastian Silva, who previously directed The Maid, will be helming from his own script, with Freaks and Geeks writer Mike White producing.
It was reported last year that Cera is developing a high school comedy about a character who gets repeatedly dumped for being emotionally immature.
