Talking to MTV News, the actress - who voices the character of Tigress in the DreamWorks film - revealed that her dislike for her own voice led her to try out multiple different voices in the hopes of impressing the film's executives with her wide range.
"I've never loved my own voice. Like most people, you hear your own voice and you think, 'Ugh.' So I came in and I was Mae West for a while," she recalled. "I was doing southern, I was doing British, I was doing any accent I could come up with."
She went on to reveal that she was eventually told that her natural speaking voice would suit the project just fine, adding: "Finally, they had to give me the talking to that they'd analyzed my voice and they'd hired me and they were very fine with [it]."
The film also stars Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Gary Oldman, Dustin Hoffman and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Jolie recently revealed that Kung Fu Panda 2's adoption theme led her to have "happy, wonderful discussions" with her own children, several of which are adopted.
