Jamie Cullum plays for Robert De Niro in Cannes

Jamie Cullum surprised Robert De Niro with a performance at the opening ceremony of the 64th Cannes Film Festival last night.
The singer-songwriter was chosen to perform a New York-themed mash-up for De Niro, who served as the chairman of this year's jury.
Cullum's performance, which featured Frank Sinatra's 'New York New York' and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys's 'Empire State of Mind', saw members of the festival jury, including Uma Thurman, dance on stage.

The 31-year-old said: "De Niro's a film legend who defines what cinema is all about. It's amazing to have the opportunity to honour him."
