Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent for 'Cloud Atlas'

Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent have been announced as part of the ensemble cast for the Wachowski's upcoming adaptation of Cloud Atlas.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sarandon and Broadbent are the latest names to join the film's extensive cast list, which already includes the likes of Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.

Earlier today at the Cannes Film Festival, it was also confirmed that The Matrix star Hugo Weaving and Perfume star Ben Whishaw would be part of the film.

Cloud Atlas will be based on the novel by British author David Mitchell, which follows several interlinking stories each taking place in a different place and time period.

Andy and Lana Wachowski will co-write and co-direct the project alongside Run Lola Run director Tom Tykwer, and each of the actor's will take on multiple roles.

Cloud Atlas is scheduled to begin filming this September.
