The actor, who starred in the original 1980s TV series, told PopEater that he does not regret forgoing a viewing as it was over-hyped and might have ruined his positive opinions on the show.
"I did not [see it]. It would be like watching someone go on a date with your ex-wife," he told PopEater. "The film made a lot of noise but wasn't that big. Otherwise you'd have 2 and 3 out already."
The 2005 big-screen remake of The Dukes of Hazzard starred Jessica Simpson, Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott, and topped both the US and UK box office upon its release.
Original series actor Ben Jones previously slated the film, describing it as a "sleazy insult".
