Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, von Trier joked that Dunst has pressed him to make the movie as explicit as possible.
"Kirsten insisted it's going to be a porn film," the Danish filmmaker quipped. "We made this very famous beaver-shot in [Melancholia], where Kirsten demanded to be naked. I said, 'It doesn't really fit the film', and she said, 'No, no, no, no. I feel strongly for this'. So I said, 'OK, let's put it in'. And now she wants more - that's how women are."
Von Trier added that Charlotte Gainsbourg, who appears in Melancholia and 2009's Antichrist, is also "behind" the idea.
"We just want to have a lot of very, very, very unpleasant sex and that's what I'm writing right now," he said. "It's going to be three or four hours long..."
