James Franco to star in 'Cherry'

The actor will join Lili Taylor, Heather Graham and British actor Dev Patel in the film, about a young girl's journey into the San Franciscan porn industry.
Novelist Stephen Elliott and real-life porn star Lorelei Lee penned the script, which will see Franco playing a cocaine-addicted lawyer who crosses paths with the girl.
Slumdog Millionaire star Patel will take on the role of her infatuated best friend, while Boogie Nights actor Graham will appear as a porn actor-turned-director in the industry.
Franco will next be seen as the wizard in Sam Raimi's Oz, the Great and Powerful and recently committed to The Stare alongside Winona Ryder. He also stars in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, to be released in the US on August 5 and the UK on August 12.
