Speaking to Access Hollywood, the actor explained that he didn't expect to retain any dignity while filming the sequel to director Todd Phillips's 2009 comedy.
"When I read [the script] I was like, 'This is insane'," Helms said. "If we're going to make a sequel, we have to make it worthwhile, so it's gotta be crazy, it's gotta be insane!"
The star continued: "I've never had any dignity and so why start now? It's kind of out there, [but] it's not mean spirited."
Helms also revealed that one of the most significant challenges of filming The Hangover Part II in Bangkok was coming down with severe food poisoning.
"If you've ever had really bad food poisoning, then you know about a tenth of what I endured," he joked. "I thought my body was going to explode."
Last week, filmmaker Phillips revealed that it is possible a third Hangover film could be produced in order to complete a trilogy.
The Hangover Part II is released on May 26 in the US and the UK.
