The actress was cast as the film's heroine Katniss Everdeen last month, following which fans of the Suzanne Collins teen series criticised the decision owing to Lawrence's hair colour.
"No, because the internet to me is like a black hole," Lawrence told MTV News, when asked if the response had bothered her. "I never really go on it.
"I wasn't really away that everybody was so upset until after I got my hair dyed. Then people were like, 'Oh my gosh, blonde hair can turn brown!'"
Following the initial uproar about Lawrence's casting, director Gary Ross previously said: "I promise all the avid fans of The Hunger Games that we can easily deal with Jennifer's hair colour."
Lionsgate published the first photo of the actress in character with her newly dyed hair earlier this month.
The Hunger Games is currently scheduled for release on March 23, 2012.
