William Hurt set for US President role

William Hurt is in negotiations to play the US President in thriller Vantage Point.
The star has been snapped up to join Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox for the film following his Oscar nomination for best supporting actor.
Directed by British television veteran Pete Travis (Omagh), the film will look at an attempted assassination from five difference viewpoints. It is based on a script by Barry Levy bought by Columbia for $1 million.
