Jackie Chan deems Oscars "unfair"

Jackie Chan has hit out at awards ceremonies, particularly the Oscars, saying they are unfair in their results.
The martial arts expert posted his views on his own website, and seemed to be insinuating that Brokeback Mountain, directed by his friend Ang Lee, should have won Best Picture.
"There was a lot of criticism on the Internet saying that the Oscar results were unfair...some thought someone else should've won best director and another film should've won best picture," said the actor.
He went onto claim that the sheer number of films that the awards are chosen from, as well as the personal tastes of jurors, contributed to the selection problems.
"Do you know how many films a film awards ceremony has to select from? Maybe some did not qualify for the award. Some had no chance to participate, and maybe some films were not nominated by anybody. However, these films could be even better than the ones participating in the awards, it would be hard to know. Can you say that is fair?
"Since everyone has different tastes or favourites, there will naturally be different results".
