Vin Diesel to take pay cut for 'Riddick'?

Vin Diesel has revealed that he is willing to take a pay cut to star in a much darker follow-up to The Chronicles of Riddick.

The actor confirmed to fans on Facebook that the production is likely to begin within a few months.

He wrote on his page: "[David Twohy] the writer/director just landed in New York with the good news. We can start filming this summer.

"However, there is a catch… in order for us to make a true R rated film, I must work for scale upfront."

Diesel added that pay was not a concern for him as the "real issue" is whether he can "momentarily venture to that dark place called Riddick".

He teased fans with details of the new movie last year, disclosing that he may have "three different looks" in the third film in the series.
