The New York Post claims that New York Knicks basketball player Amar'e Stoudemire is in serious talks with Relativity about joining the film, after declaring that he is a big fan of the original.
The Strangers starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as an unlucky couple who are attacked in their home by three individuals whose motives are never explained.
The Strangers 2 will be directed by Laurent Briet from a script by the original film's director Bryan Bertino, and will see the strangers return to attack a family of four at a trailer park.
Bertino previously revealed that he doesn't ever intend to reveal any of the motives or origins of the strangers, insisting that it would ruin the characters.
The Strangers 2 has yet to receive an official start date.
